Hobart W. Blakeslee Jr.

Hobart (Bart) Blakeslee Jr passed away peacefully at his home on Friday May 30, 2014. He was surrounded by his loved ones. Bart was born on July 28, 1942 to Captain Hobart and Esthere Blakeslee in New Orleans, Lousiana. Captain Blakeslee died in World War II. In his youth and early years, Bart was nurtured by his aunts, uncles, grandparents and loving mother. His family moved to Mobile, Alabama where he attended school and graduated from UMS. He later earned a BA degree from Louisiana Tech and began work at Equifax where he retired after 39 years. Hobart married Agnes Fowlkes of Mobile, Alabama in 1967. Bart’s family includes brother Harry H Blakeslee, sister-in-law Betsy Farber Blakeslee, daughter Melissa Anne Smith, daughter Victoria M Martin. Bart has 5 grandchildren: Candace Smith, Amanda Otwell, Charles Smith, and Austin Smith in Lawrenceville, GA and Sam Martin in Fountain, CO. He is also survived by 3 greatgrandchildren: Lilliana, Alex and Anthony. In addition, Hobart is survuived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church Youth program in Snellville, GA . A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
