Hope Elaine Hill, age 52, of Lawrenceville passed away January 23, 2016. Hope was a teacher with Gwinnett County Public Schools for many years and taught kindergarten at McKendree Elementary School for 16 years. She graduated from SW Dekalb High School in 1981 and received a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Walden University. Hope was a member of Heritage Hills Baptist Church in Decatur and very active with Relay for Life of Georgia. She coordinated and participated for many years with walks and Tri-State Trek bike rides for ALS of Georgia. Hope was an avid GA Tech and Country Music fan. Her favorite band was Little Big Town. She has traveled all over Europe and loved taking pictures; some of her favorite adventures were Paris, Monte Carlo, and Alaska. When she was home she loved planting flowers in her garden. She was preceded in death by her father, Curtis Hill and is survived by her mother, Dorothy R. Hill of Stone Mountain, GA, formerly of Lawrenceville. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Prospect UMC Cemetery. Dr. Lamar Holley will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Relay for Life or ALS of Georgia.
