Hugh Thomas Flowers, age 73, of Norcross Georgia, took his last breath here on September 8, 2018 and breathed his first breath in Heaven.
Funeral services arranged by Wages Funeral Home – Stone Mtn. Ga. Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 10 from 2:00 – 4:00p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be Tuesday September 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
Officiating the service will be Pastor Tim Taylor.
Internment will be Melwood Cementary – Stone Mountain, Georgia
Hugh was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Ellene Flowers and his brothers-in-law, Bobby Floyd and Sonny Hardy.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy Flowers and his daughter, Ginger (Brian) Marburger and his son Gary (Sandy) Flowers. He loved his four grandsons – Ian Marburger, Collin Marburger, Nicholas Flowers and Kyle Flowers. He is also survived by four loving sisters Marie (Kelley) Richardson, Peggy (Kenneth) Taylor, and Helen Floyd and Joy Hardy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Hugh was a career Grocery Store Manager and in his retirement worked for Carmax where he continued his huge passion for CARS of all types. He also owned and restored several classic cars.
Hugh’s greatest passion was spending time with his family. He loved times at the beach and hunting and fishing trips with his buddies and family. He was a Georgia Bulldog fan and loved the Atlanta Braves.
He had a gigantic, loving heart and shared a welcomed hug wherever he went. He would light up any room as he entered with his contagious laugh and bubbly personality.
Hugh loved his Stone Mountain High School Class of ’63 and continued those friendships for the next 55 years.
Pallbearers will include grandsons, Ian Marburger, Collin Marburger, Nicholas Flowers, Kyle Flowers, and nephews - Chuck Richardson, Paul Richardson, Jay Floyd and Andy Taylor.
