Ida Mae Holland Adams of Avondale Estates, Georgia was born on May 30, 1920. She was the youngest child of six children born to Ida Mae Alexander Holland and Richard McSwain Holland. She passed away at the age of 90 on Saturday, November 6, 2010. She is preceded in death by her husband, James David Adams. She is preceded in death by all of her siblings: Gambrell, Pat, Roy, and Frank Holland, and Vesta Holland Brown, her dear sister and closest friend. Sadly she also is preceded in death by her son James David Adams, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Judith Adams Focht, five grandchildren and their families: David, Debora, and Aiyana Adams; Ken, Sandy, Anna and Cassandra Adams; Adam, Gili, Emanuel, Ahinoam and Tsuri Focht; Matthew, Jillian and Atalaya Focht; and Phoebe, Jeff and Corra Webb. A native of South Carolina, she moved to Georgia in the mid-40?s where she and her husband raised their two children. She continued her educational studies through correspondence, completed her degree while teaching in various school systems in Georgia for 36 years, retiring from the DeKalb County system in 1982. A service will be held at Wages and Sons Funeral Home, 1041 Main Street, Stone Mountain, Georgia 30083 with interment to follow at Floral Hills Memory Garden. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 on Wednesday, November 10 at Wages and Sons Funeral Home, 1040 Main Street, Stone Mountain, Georgia, followed by the service at 3:00.
