Jacquelyn Marie (Kruger) Ellison died peacefully at home on March 24, 2026 in Suwanee, Georgia at the age of 66 with her husband and oldest son by her side.
Known to all as Jackie, she is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, John, and their sons, Johnny Ellison and Jerry Ellison. Jackie is also survived by her sister, Cheryl Van Hooven of New York City, and brother, James Kruger (Donna) of Atlanta, and sisters-in-law Cerese Van Hooven (Longwood, FL) and Kathleen Van Hooven (Atlanta).
She is preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice Kruger (Atlanta), her father Gerald S. Kruger (Atlanta), her brothers Curt Van Hooven (Atlanta) and Craig Van Hooven (Longwood, FL).
Jackie was the sister-in-law of John’s brothers Robert, Jr, Greg, Mark and Jim, and was the daughter-in-law of predeceased Drs Robert and Lois Ellison of Augusta.
Jackie was born on November 11, 1959, in St. Paul, Minnesota, and in 1964 her family moved to the Diamond Head neighborhood in Decatur. Jackie attended Coralwood Elementary School, Lakeside High School, and Georgia Southern University in Statesboro where she received a BA in Management in 1982.
Jackie met her future husband, John, in college although they didn’t date until after graduation. They married in 1984 and welcomed sons Johnny (39) and Jerry (35).
Jackie had a contagious zest for life, friendship and parties, keeping a large number of friends over the years. She had a terrific sense of humor, quick and often wry.
Jackie was a devoted and loving mother who stood by her sons through the ups and downs of growing up, and she heartedly welcomed their friends into the family home.
Visitation will be held at Wages & Sons Funeral Home, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville on Friday, April 3, at 1pm with non-denominational services at 2pm led by Minister Harold Savage of Snellville Church of Christ.
