Jalaine Brand, 80, of Dacula, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on December 26, 2023, after a courageous one-year battle with cancer. Born in Lawrenceville, Georgia, to the late Ray & Doris Wood, Jalaine was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a respected member of her community.
Jalaine was a devoted wife, celebrating 63 years of marriage with her loving husband, Joseph W Brand. Both Jalaine and Joseph were longtime members at Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula, Georgia, where they found solace, fellowship, and a deep sense of community.
She was a beacon of love and support for her family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will be cherished for generations to come.
In her professional life, Jalaine was a successful entrepreneur, business owner, and real estate professional. Her dedication to serving her community and its members was evident in every endeavor she pursued. Even after retirement, Jalaine discovered a passion for painting. Humble about her God-given talent, she transformed visions of her childhood, dreams of Heaven, and family stories into masterpieces that will forever be treasured.
Throughout her battle with cancer, Jalaine displayed remarkable strength and fortitude that inspired all who knew her. Her calm words of wisdom and unwavering faith in the grace of God provided solace and guidance to her family. Jalaine’s life reflected the wisdom found in her favorite Bible verse, Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in The Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all of your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path.”
Jalaine is survived by her devoted husband, Joseph W Brand; loving children Kimberly B. Branch (spouse: Tom Branch Jr) and Keith Brand (spouse: Shannon Brand); caring brother, Clinton Wood; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A graveside service to celebrate Jalaine’s life will be held at Gwinnett Memorial Park in Lawrenceville, Georgia, on Friday, December 29th, at 11:00 am. The service will be officiated by Pastor Cary Pittman from White Plains Baptist Church. Family and friends are welcome to join in honoring Jalaine’s memory.
