James (Jim) E. Jeffcoat, age 92, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jim is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Beverly; his son, James E. Jeffcoat Jr., and daughter-in-law, Judi; his daughter, Cheryl, and son-in-law, Sanford McAllister. He was the proud grandfather of Christina and Caroline Jeffcoat, Ashley and Lauren McAllister, and Elizabeth Johnson.
He is also survived by his two sisters, Mary Flynn and Dorothy Herndon, and his brother, John Jeffcoat, and sister-in-law, Emily. James leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jim honorably served his country for four years in the U.S. Navy. After his service, he graduated from Troy University and embarked on a successful career in finance. He worked for many years at Commercial Credit Business Loans before joining First Atlanta Bank and eventually retiring from Wachovia Bank.
Jim’s life was marked by his dedication to his family, his country, and his work. His legacy of love, integrity, and service will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A service of Remembrance will be held on August 6, 2024 at 10AM at Wages and Sons Funeral Home Stone Mountain Chapel 1040 Main Street Stone Mountain, GA 30083. He will be interned in Canton, Georgia at the Georgia National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Sociey in Jim’s honor.
Jim will be remembered for his warmth, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to his loved ones. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
