James “Jim” Halpin
Tuesday, July 1, 1958 – Thursday, February 19, 2026
James “Jim” Halpin, 67, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026. Born on July 1, 1958, in Philadelphia, Jim carried his deep love for family, faith, and community with him throughout his life.
Jim was a proud graduate of La Salle College in Philadelphia. He built a respected career as a financial controller, earning the admiration of colleagues for his integrity, diligence, and steady leadership.
Jim truly lived life to the fullest. He loved hockey and pickleball, and if you spent any time on the pickleball court with him, you likely experienced his playful razzing and quick wit. He had a special talent for teasing his friends just enough to make them laugh, and his joyful spirit made every game brighter. He was also a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church.
Above all else, Jim cherished his family. Lovingly known as “Poppop” to his grandchildren—Hudson, Parker, Bennet, Cooper, Connor, Theo, and Sia—he treasured every moment spent with them. Whether sharing stories, laughter, or his love of baseball and hockey with his boys, Jim’s greatest happiness came from being surrounded by those he loved.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Helen Halpin; his sons, Matthew (Jodi) Halpin, Michael (Samantha) Halpin, and Robert (Mariea) Halpin; his cherished grandchildren; and his loving sisters, Denise, Tina, and Mellissa. He was a devoted husband, proud father, adoring Poppop, and a loyal friend to many.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 801 Tom Smith Rd, Lilburn, GA 30047, on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Jim’s memory to the American Heart Association or the Leukemia Foundation.
