James H. "Jimmy" Lord, Jr.

James H. “Jimmy” Lord, Jr., of Snellville, GA went to be with Jesus while surrounded by his loving family at the age of 90 on March 4, 2021.

Jimmy was born in Atlanta, GA to Mary McEachin and James Harrison Lord, Sr. on December 3, 1930 and later moved to the Tucker area. He was a graduate of Clarkston High School. Jimmy served in the United States Marine Corp. from 1947-1950. On September 1, 1950, Jimmy married the love of his life, Jeri Chewning Lord, and they recently celebrated 70 years of marriage. He was a member of the Atlanta Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 72 and worked as a union plumber until his retirement.

Jimmy became a Shriner and was a member of the Oriental Band, and a member of The Royal Order of Jesters. He served on the Clarkston, GA City Council for several terms. He was a lifetime member of Rehoboth Baptist Church.

Jimmy was a very devoted family man. He was preceded in death by his sister Edna Lord Baumgartner. He is survived by his wife Jeri Lord, sister, Ann Elizabeth Troglin (Mike), sons Tony Lord (Rosalind) and Stanley Lord (Sheila), grandchildren Stephanie Self (Adam), Krista Gadd (Jonathan), Stan Lord (Joy), Travis Lord (Laura), and great grandchildren Sarah Grace Self, Payton Gadd, Charlotte Self, Claire Gadd, Harrison Gadd, Eli Lord, Ivy Gadd, Olivia Lord, Isabella Lord, Gabriella Lord and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Wages & Sons Funeral Home, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy. Lawrenceville, GA on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM and Funeral Services on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Rehoboth Baptist Church 2997 Lawrenceville Hwy. Tucker, GA 30084 at 2:00PM with Rev. Larry Williams officiating.
