James Albert Mooney, Jr.

James Albert Mooney, Jr., 79, of Stone Mountain, Georgia, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2016 in his home surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with cancer. Born in West Palm Beach, FL, Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Jim majored in Bible and History at Belhaven College and was an analyst with IBM for 30 years. He was deeply involved in his church and was the hands and feet of Christ to many. He was a private pilot who loved airplanes, technology, nature, animals and his many friends. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Holmes Mooney, daughter, Beverly Mooney (Carmen Morales), son, Vincent (Wendy) Mooney, daughter, Stephanie (Ron) Wood, daughter Shannon Goad, sister, Mary Jean (George) Hyde, brothers Kenny (Harriet), Jay (Jenny), Claude (Debbie), and six grandchildren. Services will be Sunday December 4, 2016 at 4 pm at Lilburn Alliance Church, 5915 Lawrenceville Hwy, Tucker, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lilburn Alliance Church.
