James C. Nix Jr.

James C. Nix, Jr., 88, was born in Habersham County to the late James C. and Genelia S. Nix. Mr. Nix is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Myrl F. Nix. Two brothers: Jack Nix and Bob Nix. Mr. Nix worked at LeTourneaus in Toccoa, The Atlanta Transit Company, and Marta, before having his own business: Nix Radio and Intercom Service. Mr. Nix served our country in the Navy. Mr. Nix enjoyed gardening, cooking and woodwork. And he was a member of Pine Lake Baptist Church since 1965. Mr. Nix is survived by his daughter and husband, Carolyn and Lamar Barden. Two grandchildren: Ande D'Addona and Norman Barden and 3 great-grandchildren. Mr. Nix had 3 Foster children: JoAnn Stout, Bobbie Dye, and Jamie Ellis. He had 8 foster grandchildren and 11 foster great grandchildren. Mr. Nix has two sisters: Lucille Housworth, Decatur, LaVaughan Cochran, Forest Park. His special friend was Charlotte Benton. Visitation will be Tuesday 3 - 6 o'clock at Wages and Sons Funeral Home, Main St., Stone Mountain. The service will be Wednesday at 11:00 at the Funeral Home Chapel.
