James Monroe “Jim” Yarbrough, 81, of Atlanta, GA, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026.
Born on August 24, 1944, in Atlanta, GA, Jim was a proud graduate of Georgia State University. He went on to serve his country honorably as a Vietnam veteran in the United States Navy as a Seabee. Jim dedicated over 50 years of his life as a forklift salesman, a career that reflected his strong work ethic, determination, and love for connecting with people. He was known as a true salesman at heart, someone who believed deeply in hard work and that anything could be accomplished with persistence and effort. He inspired his family with the belief that they could go far in life through dedication and resilience. A strong-minded and independent man, Jim had a deep love for life’s simple joys. He especially enjoyed being out on the water with friends and family, collecting treasured items, and spending time at family gatherings, holidays, and summers filled with laughter. He also shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Cooper.
Jim was incredibly proud of his accomplishments and, above all, his family. He is survived by his daughter, Hallie Yarbrough Romero; grandchildren, Jonathan Romero, A. James Romero, Madison Romero, Nicholas Romero, and Matthew Romero; brother, Jerry Yarbrough; two great-grandsons; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Malcolm; father, Brondell Robert Yarbrough; son, Ronald James Yarbrough; brother, Brondell Robert Yarbrough Jr.; and his sister, Juanita Yarbrough Ervin.
