J.E. Hansard, Sr. Rev.

Rev. J.E. Hansard, Sr. age 89, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away Monday, February 17, 2014, at New London Healthcare in Snellville, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years Novealine Vaughan Hansard; daughter, Latrelle Wooten; great grandson, Tyler Smith; parents, Goel and Gertrude Hansard; sister, Bernice Wood; and two brothers, Nimrod Hansard and Dewitt Hansard. Rev. Hansard faithfully served the Lord as a Preacher of the Gospel. He preached tent revivals including Cabbage Town, and surrounding Counties. He preached regularly on the radio, and was the Pastor of several Baptist Churches in the metro Atlanta area. Rev. Hansard also retired from General Motors after many faithful years of labor. He was a loving and faithful husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his four children, Sandra Smith of Douglasville; Linda Hodge of Conyers; Dr. Kenneth T. Hansard, Sr. (Frances) of Ellenwood; and Rev. James E. Hansard, Jr. (Cathy) of Lawrenceville; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel with Rev. Landy McDaniel and Rev. James E. Hansard, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Gwinnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00 until 4:00 and 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
