On 10-16-2026, Jean Marie (Arrington) Ostroski passed away at her residence, with her husband Thomas of 28 years at her side.
Marie was born in Boston, GA but lived most of her early life in Jonesboro, GA. Following elementary and high school, Marie soon married. After being married a year, she began the next phase of her life from housewife to mother of Connie and Terry. Her specialty was pure home cooking along with maintaining a busy household. After 21 years married, a divorce transitioned Marie into the next phase in her life as a divorcee.
Marie had several interim jobs until she became employed by SunTrust Bank in 1989. Working up from several jobs, she would end up as an accounts-payable clerk, from which position she would leave in 2002 on disability due to an acoustic neuroma.
Along with having a fulfilling career at SunTrust, Marie met the love of her life, Thomas Ostroski. Their relationship grew from friends in 1991, dating in 1996, and finally marriage in 1998. In 1999, Marie began the next phase of her life. She began a life encumbered with many medical issues, procedures, and operations. But God’s timing had prepared her for this daunting phase! He provided someone to support, care, nurture, and love her thru it all. A husband in Thomas!
Though the times ahead were stressful, they both managed to include times to enjoy vacations, hiking, biking, roller-blading, gardening, dining out, and visiting with family and friends.
The final phase of Marie’s life included bouts with Stage-1 lung cancer, Alzheimer disease, and finally Stage-4 liver cancer. After 16 months of home hospice care, Marie has now ended that phase to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She was predeceased by her mother (Ruth Helen Arrington) and her father (William David Arrington, Sr).
Surviving members of her family include her brother William Arrington Jr (Jonesboro, GA), her daughter Connie Vandevander (Bruce) (Molena, GA), her son Terry Stephens (Melissa) (Temple, GA), her grandchildren Adam Trammel (Felicia) (Concord, GA), Brittney Stephens (Beauford, SC), Alexander Stephens (Atlanta, GA), her great-grandchildren Oaklynn, Raelynn, Anna Belle, and Huxley (Concord, GA), and her cousins Shirley Collins (Milner, GA), and Jenny Johnson (Henry) (Griffin, GA).
