Jewel Watkins Porter

Jewel Porter, 89, passed away February 26, 2020 of Lawrenceville GA with her family by her side. She was born March 19, 1930 in Asheville, NC, 1 of 4 children, teen years spent in Franklin, NC, resided in Doraville GA from 1968 to 1999, and now has lived in Lawrenceville, GA present.

Jewel had many friends and work associates that loved her for her hard work, being a single mom and making sure that her kids participated in all activities that they desired. Her giving and kind ways touched all kids in the neighborhoods, being involved and present. That door never closed in more recent years helping with grandchildren. Jewel is survived by daughters Patricia McMahon, Shirley Fite and her husband Richard, as well as son Daryl Porter and his wife Claudia. Jewel has 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren all loved to the end of the world and back. She was preceded in death by her son Bill Porter III.

A visitation with family will be at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 29, 2020 with a small service following at 3:00pm at Wages and Sons, 1031 Lawrenceville Highway Lawrenceville, GA 30046.
