Jo Ellen (Camp) Kitchens

Jo Ellen Camp Kitchens, 84, formerly of Chamblee, GA passed away peacefully on February 3, 2021.

Jo Ellen was born in Atlanta, GA on June 25 ^th , 1936. Jo was preceded in death by her parents; Walter D. Camp and Ruby E. Camp, and brother Walter D. Camp, Jr.

Jo Ellen is survived by daughter Amelia (Amy) Ellen Kitchens, son Robert Mark (Tiffany) Kitchens and grandson Seth Kitchens.  She is also survived by sister in law Sue Camp, nieces: Charlotte (Danny) Elmore, Carolyn (Dave) Rand, Angie (Chris) Holcomb; nephew Andy (Cheryl) Camp.  Many great nieces and nephews, and Grand God Daughter Sydney Stone.

Jo Ellen was a devoted mother but loved the title of Grandma Jo more than anything. She was so proud to be a Camp and loved her big extended family where she was affectionately known as Aunt Jody.

Jo Ellen was retired from the Atlanta Casualty Companies where she worked and made lifelong friends.  In her retirement, Jo Ellen enjoyed trips to the mountains and various art festivals where she loved to shop for paintings and pottery.

Jo Ellen will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and her willingness to always lend a hand to anyone in need.

A private graveside service will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021 at the Sandy Springs UMC Historical Cemetery with Dr. Dock Hollingsworth officiating.

The family would like to thank the many people who have reached out and supported Jo Ellen and her family during this time.
