Joan Hyacinth Clarke-Brown

Joan Hyacinth Clarke-Brown born August 3, 1944, aged 76, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away on Thursday February 25, 2021. She is survived in death by husband, Allan B. Brown of 55 years. She is survived by daughter, Jacqueline Day, sons Howard Brown and Berisford Charlton, son-in-law Peter Day, grand-children Storm Day, Sky Day, Ashley Brown, Apple Brown and Jeremy Murray, Great grand-child Star Brown, sister Carmen Fraizer, brother Dean Rowe, many more half-sisters and half-brothers, nieces, nephews and cousins in Jamaica and England. Ms. Joan was loved by many including her family and friends in Jamaica, England, and United States of America. Joan was born in Barton, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, West Indies Island. Joan graduated from Maggoty All-Age School, Jamaica. Ms. Joan was a devoted Christian who strongly believe in God’s principles. The building could be burning, and Ms. Joan felt that God would deliver her safely from the flames. Ms. Joan enjoyed working in the early years as an office worker then later started her own laundry business in Jamaica. Ms. Joan migrated to Lawrenceville, Georgia with her husband Mr. Allan on September 12, 2000. Ms. Joan loved her gospel music, reggae music by Bob Marley and the Wailers, Jimmy Cliff songs and his movie The Harder They Come along with Jamaican music from the 60s and 70s. Ms. Joan’s memorable occasion that she attended was Emperor Haile Selassie visit to Jamaica in 1966. The family requests flowers on the day of the funeral, or you may give donations to the Dementia Society of America. The family will be receiving friends on Friday, March 12, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wages and Sons Funeral Home, 1031 Lawrenceville Highway, Lawrenceville, GA 30046. The funeral will be lived streamed on Saturday March 13, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. and in person with each participant wearing a mask. The church service will be officiated by Chaplin Maria Hughes.
