Joan E. Laymon Mrs.

Joan Elaine Laymon, age 82 of Lawrenceville, GA died at home on June 20, 2015, following a gallant fight with multiple health challenges, beginning with a second aneurysm in 2014. Born on February 12, 1933 in Hicksville NY to the late Henry Diedrich and Wilhelmina Luhmann. She is survived by her loving spouse, William Arthur, her husband for 63 years.

Joan was a mother to eight children – William A. Jr. (JoAnn), Locust Grove, VA, Thomas R, Winter Haven, FL., Karen J Stapleton (Randy), Whiteland, IN, Janis M.Sergeant, Sarasota, FL the late Robert D. (1982), Mark D. Lawrenceville, GA, David J. (Helena), Berkeley Lake, GA., and Kristin A., Lawrenceville, GA and seven grandchildren. Joan devoted her entire life to, her family, and was an active member of Oak Road Lutheran Church. Joan is survived by sisters, Dorothy Delalio and Ruth Lipira (Louis) of Stuart, FL and brother Robert Luhmann (Grazi) of Asheville, NC.

A memorial service to honor the life of Joan will be held on July 6, 2015, at Wages and Sons Funeral Home located at 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville GA 30046. Family will be receiving guests at 6 pm followed by the memorial service at 7 pm. Officiating ministers are Rev, Scott Holder and Rev. George Murdaugh (pastor emeritus) of Oak Road Lutheran Church.The family is accepting flowers at the above location or, if desired, a donation in lieu of flowers to the American Veterans Association.
