Joanne S. Daniel

Joanne S. Daniel, age 85, of Dacula, GA passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2020. Born in Atlanta, on March 3, 1935, Joanne is predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Gladys Strange, her husband Roy Daniel, her brother, Michael Strange, sister, Dorothy Nelson and daughter Lori Washburn. Joanne was a loving mother, great grandmother, who cherished her family beyond all measure. Joanne loved gardening and traveling with her family. Her love of sports started at a young age when this little 5’2″ spit fire played on the Southwest Atlanta High School girl’s basketball team. She was especially proud to be featured in an AJC local sports article. Joanne experienced great pleasure that some of her great grandchildren developed a love and passion for the sport as well. Her daughter Denise Lewis lived with and cared for her during her senior years. Joanne is survived by daughter, Diane Roseberry and husband Gary Roseberry, daughter, Denise Lewis, and daughter Belinda Kostelec and her husband Shane Kostelec, and sister Blanche Wallace. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Ivy Carroll, Dale Thomason, Matt Roseberry, Kimberly Blankenship, Amber Kostelec, and Jake Kostelec. She was also blessed with eight great grandchildren, Cate Carroll, Everly Carroll, Azalea Ghigliotti, Azurea Ghigliotti, Winter Thomason, Maddox Thomason, Axel Roseberry, and Isaac Roseberry. Due to the coronavirus crisis and imposed mandatory quarantines on the family, Joanne will be privately laid to rest at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, GA. The family will have a Celebration of Life gathering at a later date. Freinds and family will be contacted once a date has been set.
