Loganville, GA

John Stephen Chisholm, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend passed away unexpectedly with his devoted wife, Cathy, by his side on June 9, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on May 5, 1947, in Waltham, MA; beloved son of the late William and Josephine (Taranto) Chisholm. As a young man, John grew up surrounded by family on Felton Street in Waltham, MA. He graduated from Waltham Vocational High School in 1966. After high school he enlisted in the Massachusetts Army National Guard, and shortly thereafter began his career at Xerox Corporation. In 1984, John was part of forming the company Advanced Data Reprographics where he worked for many years. In 2001, John moved to Loganville, GA with his wife to enjoy the warm weather where he continued to work and pursue his passion for golf. John had several hobbies, including playing in Waltham’s city softball, hockey, and bowling leagues, camping, riding his motorcycle, traveling, and golf. His passion for golf was more than a pastime. He spent countless hours on the golf course perfecting his game and playing with family and friends. He even accomplished his goal of hitting a hole in one. He enjoyed rooting for the Boston sports teams. Most important to John was his zest for life, spending time with Cathy and walking their dog, Rosie. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. John is survived by his wife Catherine (Foster) Chisholm; his son Jeff Chisholm and his fiancé Kim Brouthers of Oxford, MA; his daughter Jill Piedrahita and her husband Farben of Westford, MA; his stepdaughter Colleen (Hawco) Sieber and her husband, the late Sam of Fairbanks, AK; his brother Richard Chisholm and his wife Karen of Nashua, NH; his grandchildren: Zaquery, J’Anna, Jared, Abbie, Andrew, Lisette, Giselle, and Conrad, as well as his six great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. John was predeceased by his parents William and Josephine Chisholm, and his brother William “Skippy” Chisholm, Jr. Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, if you would like to make a memorial donation in John’s name, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital was his charity of choice.
