John Hoyt Ford

John Hoyt Ford, age 80, of Dacula, Georgia passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Ann Reagin Ford, and parents, Cosby & Bessie Ford. He is survived by his wife of nearly fifty years, Sandra Cook Ford; children, Dixianne Parker, Lisa & Steve Bullard, and Linda Ford; grandchildren, Hannah & Seth Bullard; brothers, Daniel & Jean Ford, Jimmy & Gloria Ford; brothers-in-law, Bobby & Nita Gresham, Gene & Martha Reagin, Richard & Margie Reagin; mother-in-law, Gladys M. Cook; sister-in-law, Barbara Cook Watson; numerous nieces & nephews. John worked for Sloan Paper Company for 43 years. He was a combat veteran in the Korean Conflict and served on the destroyer, USS Herbert J. Thomas. John was active as a member and deacon at Lithonia First Baptist Church and was a current and faithful member of North Metro First Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel with Dr. Frank Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Gwinnett Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to North Metro First Baptist Church, 1026 Old Peachtree Rd, NE, Lawrenceville, GA 30043 or a charity of your choice.
