John Conger Price

July 17, 1936 — July 7, 2016

John Conger Price died peacefully Thursday, July 7th 2016. His battle with aggressive lung cancer was courageous and brief. John is survived by his wife of 54 years Susan Price; his son, Scott Price; daughter in-law, Tamara Theiss; grandson, John Wyatt Price; and older brother, Howard Price. Fond memories of John are shared by many close family members and life-long friends. Born on July 17, 1936, in Clay County Alabama, John was raised with love and kindness by his paternal grandmother Margaret Jones-Price. This upbringing greatly influenced the emphasis John placed on family and friendship. After serving in the United States Air Force, during the Korean Conflict, John began what was to be a successful 32 year career with AT&T. His efforts with AT&T enabled John to complete the goal of providing opportunities for his family, which were not present during his childhood. These efforts will forever be remembered and appreciated. John’s long-time status as an amateur radio operator facilitated an enthusiastic hobby and many lasting friendships. He played a leadership role in the Snellville United Methodist Church’s Toolbox Ministry, Journey to Bethlehem, and Appalachian Outreach programs. John was an avid golfer who spent more time in fairway than in the rough. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Snellville United Methodist Church, 2428 Main St E, Snellville, GA 30078. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of John to Snellville United Methodist Church or any hospice of your choice. Online condolences can be expressed at www.wagesandsons.com
