Joseph D'Andrea Jr., 67, of Auburn, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 31st.
Joe was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on July 8, 1946 to Joseph D'Andrea Sr. and Veronica Esposito D'Andrea, and grew up in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, where he attended Corpus Christi School.
He graduated Queen of Peace High School, North Arlington, New Jersey and received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degrees from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1972 and 1979, respectively. Joe married his high school sweetheart Joan Bufano on September 30, 1967 at Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst, New Jersey.
Joe was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was predeceased by his father Joseph Sr. on November 12, 1992, and his mother Veronica on November 11, 2007. Joe is survived by his loving wife Joan; son Joseph D'Andrea III and wife Nancy of Basking Ridge, New Jersey; daughter Dana Duggan and husband T. Deane of Saint Simons Island, Georgia; grandson Alexander D'Andrea; granddaughters Lela, Whitney, and Tess Duggan; brother Ronald D'Andrea and wife Michele of Dayton, New Jersey; niece Lisa Giordano and husband Stephen of Cranbury, New Jersey.
He was a long time parishioner of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Lawrenceville, Georgia. Joe, along with his wife Joan, was a leader of their Small Christian Community at St. Lawrence. He was also involved with Cursillo and an active member of Ultreya.
Joe made his career as a sales manager in the electronics industry, having held positions at SIPAD Systems Incorporated, Printed Circuits Corporation, and T-Tech Incorporated. He was an active member of many organizations, among them Surface Mount Technology Association, Inventor's Association of Georgia, and the United States Golf Association.
He was an avid golfer and tennis player. Joe also loved drumming, performing in two bands, the Emanons and the Vestics, during high school.
A funeral mass celebrating his life will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 319 Grayson Highway, Lawrenceville, GA, at 11am on Monday, August 5th 770.963.8992, saintlaw.org with a committal and reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe's name to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life of Gwinnett County gwinnettrelayforlife.org and to St. Lawrence Church.
