Joyce M. Wakeland

Joyce M Wakeland Decatur, Ga. Joyce Meredith Cook Wakeland, 90 years old passed quietly on July 22nd. She was born to Beulah and Otto Cook on June 24, 1922 in Rochester, Ky. On December 21, l941 she married BernardBob Theodore Wakeland, MSgt., US Army. She lived Kentucky most of her life before moving to Tennessee and then to Georgia. Joyce enjoyed cooking, traveling, her church, decorating her beautiful home, and was an avid Kentucky basketball fan. She treasured her family and friends and loved a good laugh. She is preceded in death by her husband Bob, her parents, and older brother Ross Cooke. Surving are her two daughters, Martha A. Wakeland, and her husband Xavier Harel, and Paula Sue Bullick, her granddaughter Kimberly K. Campbell, great grandaughter, Lillian Joyce Campbell, her brother, Billy F. Cooke and wife, Marge, and three nephews Kevin, Kelly and Scott Cooke. A memorial service will be held at Wages and Sons in Stone Mountain on July 28 at 2:30 pm. 1040 North Main Street, Stone Mountain, Ga. 770 469 9811.
