Judith Marie "Judy" Swain

Judith Marie "Judy" Swain, 79, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away on October 18, 2026. She was born on February 12, 1947, in Blue Ridge, Georgia, to Fred and Helen Welch.

Judy worked as a preschool teacher and a secretary before retiring. Her organization and strong will served her well in both jobs and in everything else she took on. She loved to read, and she loved Elvis and I Love Lucy. Her knowledge of pop culture was remarkable. She could name every actor from any show she watched growing up, and family and friends learned that if they couldn't remember who played someone, Judy would know.

Her faith in God was strong and central to her life. She cared deeply about people in need and always wanted to help. Above all, she was a loving wife and mother, and her family was her greatest joy.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Helen Welch; her sister, Mary; her son, Ronnie; and her grandson, Trey.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond; her sons, Neil and Raymond Jr.; her grandsons, Andy, AJ, and Cameron; her sisters, Jenny, Joyce, and Frida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Atlanta Autism Consortium.
