Julie Huguley Jones Villar Julie Huguley Jones Villar, 91, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother passed away peacefully in her Lilburn home on Saturday, October 8, 2022, in the presence of her loving family. Born September 22, 1931 in Atlanta, Georgia, Julie was the daughter of the late Clint Huguley and Julia Garner Huguley. She attended Bass High School and lived her entire adult life in Dekalb and Gwinnett counties. During the late 60’s and 70’s, Julie and her husband, Bob Jones, were active in the DeKalb County Jaycees & Jaycettes. Julie served the organization in many capacities including chapter President and was the first woman to be presented with a Key Man award by the Jaycees for her outstanding service to and support of their organization. She was employed for many years as the assistant to the director of the Georgia Health Care Association in Decatur, Georgia and in 1977 she became an owner/partner and secretary/treasurer of DeKalb Fire Protection Service Inc. (Georgia Fire Protection Service) from which she retired in 2010. Julie enjoyed working her daily crossword puzzles and playing Words with Friends; reading; traveling; sewing, knitting, crocheting, & cross stitching; dancing; watching all forms of car racing, cheering on the Atlanta Braves, rooting for the Falcons and the Georgia Bulldogs; sharing a girls’ night with her oldest daughter every Thursday, and being with family. But mostly, Julie was totally devoted to the fur babies that were her constant companions throughout her life. Julie was preceded in death by her husbands, Bob Jones (1977) and Joe Villar (1993), and by her younger brother, Clint Huguley Jr. (2018). She is survived by her four children: Connie Andrews (Everett), Dacula; Robin Andrews (Woody), Pendergrass; Scott Jones (April), Orlando, Florida; and Cris Jones (Kathy) Friendswood, Texas; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. The family will receive guests for visitation on Thursday, October 13, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. at Wages & Sons Funeral Home, 1040 Main Street, Stone Mountain, Georgia 30083. Julie will be laid to rest beside Bob, “the love of her life” in a private service at a later date.
