Dr. Keith Jeffords, Jr., M.D., D.D.S.

November 14, 1959 — November 6, 2024

Dr. Keith Jeffords (64) of Smyrna passed away on Wednesday morning, November 6, 2024. Dr. Jeffords was a beloved physician and esteemed plastic surgeon in metro-Atlanta. One of less than 50 doctors in the U.S. with his unique background in multiple surgical disciplines and the founder of Paramount Plastic Surgery in Smyrna, Dr. Jeffords was a published and celebrated journal author who was frequently in demand as a lecturer at various medical seminars worldwide. He was a connoisseur of music and a 30-year member of the Atlanta Symphony Chorus.

An Atlanta native and son of a pastor, Dr. Jeffords was a 1977 graduate of South Cobb High School and a 1981 graduate of Lee College (now Lee University). He graduated as a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Emory University in 1988 and decided to further his medical education, being named a Clinical Fellow in General Dentistry at Harvard University, then a Chief Resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. From there, Dr. Jeffords earned an M.D. at Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1995 and trained in general surgery, then studied Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at University of Pittsburg. In 2000, Dr. Jeffords went into private practice in Smyrna, Georgia where he was recognized as one of Atlanta’s Top Doctors for 13 years. Dr. Jeffords was awarded a proclamation from the State of Georgia in 2012 for lifesaving efforts he performed on a landscaper who sought help at his office door after nearly severing his arm with a chainsaw. Keith used his medical degrees for the good of man and extended his love of ministry into the world of medicine.

Dr. Jeffords is predeceased by his father, Rev. Kelland Keith Jeffords, Sr. of Waresboro; grandparents, Verdie Pye Flowers and Talmadge Hixon Flowers of Jesup, and Isabel Berry Jeffords and Charles Clyde Jeffords of Waresboro.
