Kenneth Gene Gibson

Kenneth Gene Gibson, known to many as Kenny, passed away on August 25, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on May 9, 1962, Kenny will be remembered with love for the life he lived, the people he cherished, and the steady presence he brought to those around him.

Kenny attended Butler High School in Augusta, Georgia. He went on to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force, a chapter of his life that reflected commitment and duty. In his working life, he was a long haul and local CDL transporter with J.B. Hunt. He was also a Baptist, and his faith was part of the foundation of his life.

He found joy in gathering with co-workers, family, and friends. Those times of connection and fellowship were meaningful to him and helped shape the warm and familiar way he will be remembered.

Kenny is survived by his daughter, Azia Gibson; his father, Luther Gibson; his brother, Anthony Gibson; his sisters, Carla Wright and Teresa Gibson; his step-brother, Eric Fischer; his step-sister, Terri Fischer; his half-brother, Adrian Fischer; and his step-mother, Linda Gibson. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Gelynda Gibson. Taking his place among the angels alongside her. 

A memorial service for Kenneth Gene Gibson will be held on August 30, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at American Legion Post 291, 4588 Boulder Park Dr SW, Atlanta, Georgia 30331.

Kenny’s memory will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
