Kenneth "Ken" James Wilson

May 23, 1936 — October 13, 2025

Kenneth James Wilson, affectionately known as Ken, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on May 23, 1936, in Shelburne, New Hampshire, Ken lived a life marked by service, devotion, craftsmanship, and quiet strength. He was a resident of Suwanee, Georgia.

Ken proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 12 years, a period of dedication that deeply shaped his character and values. Following his military service, he remained committed to supporting fellow veterans through his involvement with the American Legion.

An alumnus of the University of New Hampshire, Ken valued education and lifelong learning. He was a man of many talents and interests, but perhaps most notably, he found joy and fulfillment in woodworking—a hobby through which he expressed his creativity and precision.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Laura Wilson; his daughters, Kathy Brefka and Dawn Chumley; and his son-in-law, Jamie Chumley. Ken was a proud grandfather to Ariel Brefka, Daniel Brefka, Luke Chumley, and Nathan Chumley, and a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his sons, David Dudley Field Wilson II and Karl Scott Wilson, whose memories he cherished and honored throughout his life.

A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made in Ken’s memory to Stone Mountain Masonic Lodge #449 or Cure Childhood Cancer, two causes that held deep meaning for him.

Ken will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family and friends, his service to country and community, and the legacy of craftsmanship and kindness he leaves behind.
