Kevin Michael Oshinski

Kevin Michael Oshinski, 68, of Buford, Georgia, passed away on May 3, 2026, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Born in South Bend, Indiana, and raised in DeKalb County, Georgia, Kevin graduated from Shamrock High School in the Class of 1975. He began his working life at McDonald’s and later built a steady career working in the Parts Department at Clark Lift of Atlanta and most recently at Takeuchi.

Kevin had a lifelong love of music. He taught himself to play guitar and organ, and his musical gifts remained a defining part of his life. While working with Alverson Piano Company, he performed annually at the Georgia Mountain Fair in Hiawassee, where he demonstrated and played organ. He also occasionally served as an organist for Sunday Mass and played guitar in a contemporary church music group. He was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and a dedicated participant in the youth ministry ACTION (Active Catholic Teens In Our Neighborhood).

Kevin was a devoted fan of NASCAR, the Atlanta Falcons, the Atlanta Braves, Notre Dame football, and the Georgia Bulldogs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Joan Oshinski, and his sister, Marcia Oshinski.

He is survived by his children: Ansley Gower (Todd), Emily Sornberger (Ryan), Daniel Oshinski (Tonia), Leah Hosse (Matt), and Preston Oshinski (Rebecca); and his twelve grandchildren: Averie Pruitt, Asher Goldsmith, Tanner Oshinski, Reed Sornberger, Reagan Hosse, Levi Oshinski, Elliott Sornberger, Easton Hosse, Lowen Gower, Colson Oshinski, Rylin Oshinski, and Brecken Gower. He is also survived by his siblings Cheryl, Steven (Stacy), David (Dana), and Dennis.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Kevin’s name to the Charcot- Marie-Tooth Association.

A memorial Mass will be held in his honor at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 319 Grayson Hwy, Lawrenceville, Georgia, on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM.
