Key Smotherman Harris (Wyatt), age 65, of Lilburn, GA passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018. She graduated from Chattanooga City High School in 1971, attended The University of the South in Sewanee, TN, and later graduated from the University of Tennessee. Key was a joyous woman and kindled friendships from every stage of her life. She previously resided in Chattanooga and Knoxville, TN, Young Harris, GA, Columbia, SC, Carbondale, IL, and Oxford, OH. Preceded in death by her late husband, Jeffrey G. Wyatt, and her parents, Glen W. and Mildred Smotherman. She is survived by her loving husband, Owen C. Harris, Sr., her daughter and best friend, Elizabeth Key (Libby) Wyatt of Atlanta, GA, sister Jane Smotherman Goodwin and her husband, Robert of Cape Coral, FL, brother Glen W. Smotherman III and his wife, Mary of Johns Creek, GA, step-son Owen C. Harris, Jr. and his wife Stacy of Trussville, AL, step-daughter Julia Deanne Grant and her wife Meryl of Belfast, ME, step-grandchildren Bailey L. Harris and Nathan C. Harris, several nieces and nephews that she adored, and her precious and beloved pets, Happy, Jasper and Boo. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Peachtree Corners Presbyterian Church, 5918 Spalding Dr., Peachtree Corners, GA 30092 (770-263-7005). Family and friends will gather in the fellowship hall at the church immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers for the memorial service, the family has requested donations be made in Key’s honor to the Atlanta Humane Society (atlantahumane.org) or The Hearing Loss Association of America (hearingloss.org).
