Larry Lee Talbert, Sr.

March 28, 1940 — March 8, 2026

Larry Lee Talbert Sr., affectionately known as “PawPaw” and “Dad,” passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on March 28, 1940, in Virginia, Larry spent his later years in Lawrenceville, Georgia, where he built a life defined by devotion to family, faith, and service to others.

Larry was a highly respected independent insurance agent and a true professional in his field. He earned a bachelor’s degree and achieved the distinguished CIC and CPCU designations, becoming widely recognized for both his expertise and integrity in the insurance industry. In addition to his successful career, Larry was passionate about mentoring others. As a teacher and trainer, he helped many individuals learn the business of insurance and guided them in building their own successful careers.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Larry was known for his extraordinary intelligence, warm heart, and unwavering kindness. He was the kind of man who would help anyone in need and who made it his mission to spread joy and positivity wherever he went.

Larry found great happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He loved reading, working crossword puzzles, and spending time doing jigsaw puzzles with his beloved wife, Marie. Many mornings, he could be found meeting friends at McDonald’s, enjoying conversation and fellowship. A faithful member of First Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, Larry lived his life grounded in faith and community.

Above all else, Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved his wife, Marie Parish Talbert, from the moment he first saw her and remained deeply devoted to her throughout their life together. His family remembers him as the best dad and PawPaw — a loving presence whose wisdom, humor, and encouragement shaped generations.

Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marie Parish Talbert, and his daughter, Angela Maxine Talbert.

He is survived by his daughter, Melanie Evans; his son, Larry Talbert Jr.; and his grandchildren, Fiadh Widow-Bransdorf, Matthew Talbert, Jeffery Talbert, and one additional grandchild. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.

A graveside service to celebrate Larry’s life will be held at Gwinnett Memorial Park at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 12, 2026.

Larry’s legacy is one of love, generosity, wisdom, and faith. He will be deeply missed, but the joy he brought to those around him and the lessons he shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
