Leroy Christopher Barker

Nov 5, 1944 — Sep 23, 2026

Covington

Leroy Christopher Barker passed away on September 23, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on November 5, 1944, Leroy lived a life marked by hard work, deep love for his family, and a generous spirit that reached far beyond his home.

Leroy was a hardworking man who built his life through his work as a delivery and salesman. He attended high school and carried with him a practical strength and determination that shaped the way he moved through the world. He was known as a man who did not tolerate nonsense for long, yet beneath that firm edge was a protective, humble, and gentle giant whose presence brought comfort and confidence to those around him.

He enjoyed the simple and meaningful pleasures of life: hunting, fishing, gardening, and baking. Leroy also loved experimenting in the kitchen, bringing both curiosity and joy to the meals and treats he prepared. He had a playful side as well and will be remembered as a prankster who could make others laugh and keep life interesting. Always a sharp dresser, he carried himself with pride and left a lasting impression wherever he went.

Above all, Leroy was a family man. He made his family feel cherished in a way that was second to none, and the love he gave will remain one of his greatest legacies. He was a father figure to many, and his generosity reached far and wide. Those who knew him will remember a man whose memory brings feelings of gratitude, humility, protection, and love.

Leroy is lovingly survived by his wife, Elizabeth Barker; his sons, Chris Barker and Dennis Barker; his daughter, Christine Barker; and his daughter-in-law, Georgia Barker. He is also survived by his sister, Mirian Barker; his brothers, Clive Barker, Richard Barker, George Barker, Junior Barker, and Carlos Barker; his sister, Rosemarie Williams; and his brother-in-law, Kevin Williams. Each of them carries forward treasured memories of his strength, humor, guidance, and steadfast love.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mavis Brown; his father, Richard Barker; his sister, Stephanie Fraser; and his brothers, Peter Barker, David Barker, and Raymond Barker. Their memories remained part of Leroy’s life and story, and they are now held together in everlasting peace.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 6, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Journey Church, 1000 Royal Park Drive, Monroe 30656.

Leroy Christopher Barker will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. His life was one of devotion, hard work, laughter, and care for others. The example he set, the love he gave, and the many lives he touched will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
