Sippel, Lessie J., Age 91, died of heart failure November 30, 2015. She was born and grew up in Michigan, married and raised a family there, and finally settled in Georgia.
She was an accomplished pianist, seamstress, china painter and member of the International China Painting Teachers Organization (ICPTO). She started making ceramics in 1950, then took up china painting in 1952, taught in Stone Mountain throughout the 70’s and 80’s and painted right up to her passing. As an artist, she also painted in oils, watercolors and acrylics. Lessie could just look at something and draw it. She took up making beaded jewelry in 2007 and sold her jewelry at craft shows as recently as last week. She also loved to bowl. Lessie served as Secretary Treasurer of the Spares & Strikes Forever Bowling League for quite a number of years, and quit bowling at age 87.
She is survived by her son, and his spouse; daughter, and her spouse; grandson, and granddaughter.
