Linda Rose Cavner Foster went to live forever with Jesus on Thursday, May 11, 2023. Mercifully, the Lord took her into His presence quickly and unexpectedly as she lay in bed. After 86 years of life and many years of faithful service, she has joined the saints who from their labors rest.
Linda was born on April 22, 1937. She lived in Duncan, Oklahoma; Tucson, Arizona; Greenville, South Carolina; Norcross, Georgia and Stone Mountain, Georgia.
She was the daughter of James K. Cavner and Nettie Edward Taylor. Linda graduated from Tucson High School in 1955 and with a degree in Christian Education from Bob Jones University in 1960. In addition to her many family roles, Linda was a bus driver and then an elementary school teacher at Stone Mountain Christian School. In the latter years of her teaching ministry she became a certified NILD educational therapist and helped many students with learning disabilities learn more successfully.
One of her delights was to travel with her husband. She visited all 50 states and many foreign countries. She especially found joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and was an avid Braves fan. She also faithfully read her Bible, prayed, served many years teaching Sunday school, served as an AWANA leader, and enjoyed fellowship with her church family. Whatever she did, she did all to the glory of God (I Corinthians 10:31).
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Roger; by her children (and their spouses), Jeff (Joanna), Dena (Wayne), and Tim (Laura); by her grandchildren (and their spouses), Janae, Jillian (Tim), Jessica (Dan), Jamie, Westin (Kelly), Devan, Ella and Cavner; and her 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Paul and his wife, Lita.
There will be a visitation at 1 pm and a service in memory of her earthly life at 2 pm at Calvary Baptist Church, 6320 Sandy Creek Rd, Loganville, GA.
“Her children rise up and bless her; Her husband also, and he praises her, saying: ‘Many daughters have done nobly, But you excel them all.’ Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her the product of her hands, And let her works praise her in the gates.” Proverbs 31:28-31
