Lynne Mary Gormley

Lynne Mary Gormley, of Suwanee, GA, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2024. Born on May 11, 1952, in St. Louis, MO, Lynne lived a life full of faith, love, and service.

Lynne attended Lafayette High School and later dedicated 25 years of her career to Bank of America. Her commitment to her work was paralleled by her devotion to her faith and her community. Lynne was an active and beloved member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceville, GA. She served on the parish council, helped form a support group for widows, and ministered to couples seeking annulments. Her volunteer efforts extended to St. Vincent de Paul, and she was an enthusiastic participant in the Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP) program. Lynne cherished her time with the “Women of the Word,” a group that brought her immense joy and fellowship.

Lynne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Hancock Gormley; her parents, William P. Byrne and Laverne L. Byrne; her sister, Christine Fisher; and her brother, Brian Byrne.

She is survived by her loving children: Richard Gower (Lauren), Tiffany Gower, and Todd Gower (Ansley); her sister, Bridget Edgerton; and her cherished grandchildren: Averie Pruitt, Merritt Gower, Reed Gower, Lowen Gower, and Brecken Gower. Lynne’s legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on through them.

A memorial mass will be held in her honor at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 319 Grayson Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA 30046, on June 13, 2024, at 11:00 AM.

Lynne will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift those whose lives she touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Lynne’s name to St. Vincent de Paul .
