Margaret Schubert

Margaret F. "Peg" (Ipsan) Schubert died on January 14, 2015, after a long life. Born in Fairfield, Iowa, in 1924, Peg grew up in Iowa and graduated valedictorian of her high school class. While working for an architect in Indiana, she met and married her husband, Charles, at the onset of WWII. While raising a family, the couple lived in over 30 cities and 20 states due to Charles's career in highway and heavy construction management. With each new location, Peg volunteered in parent teacher associations, scouts, as a school librarian, 4H leader and band parent. Her artwork and prose graced many a program, handout and bulletin board. They settled in Stone Mountain, GA in 1982. Peg volunteered and then was employed at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Stone Mountain, retiring in 2003. Peg gave her husband a '66 Thunderbird to restore upon his retirement and she and the entire family were active in Vintage Thunderbird events regionally and nationally. She loved nature and cared for the environment, regularly reporting on pollution to Snapfinger Creek which ran through her backyard. Mostly, she loved people, above all her family, and is survived by her children Barbara Parisian (John), Chuck (Mary), John (Patty), Terry, 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild. Her husband Charles, an infant daughter Margaret and a grandchild Theresa predeceased her. Visitation Tuesday, January 20, 6:00 to 7:30, Wages Funeral Home in Stone Mountain. Funeral mass Wednesday, at 3:30, with viewing immediately beforehand, Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Stone Mountain.
