Marion Lynn Smith Butcher passed away peacefully on February 17, 2021 surrounded by family. She is preceded in death by her parents Charles Bowman Smith and Frances Elizabeth Thomas Smith as well as her precious son Eric Scott Butcher.

Marion was born on February 19, 1941 in Maryville, TN and raised in Knoxville, TN, the only child of Charles and Frances. She was very fortunate to have several loving aunts, uncles and cousins nearby so there was always an abundance of love and laughter. Time with her cousins in her youth and adult life was truly a cherished gift. Marion loved her time in the pageant circuit and was very proud when she was crowned Miss Parade of Homes and other elite pageants in the Knoxville area.

Marion married young and became a Mom of four children. She was active in their school and sporting activities. In her 30’s after a divorce she reinvented herself and became a very successful beauty consultant/educator for Elizabeth Arden Cosmetics for many years, often traveling for teaching seminars.

Marion is survived by her sons, Brian Lee Butcher (Kathleen), Russell Allen Butcher, daughter Allison Butcher Dunsmuir (Scott) and daughter in law Deborah Butcher (Eric’s loving wife). Grandchildren: Jesse Butcher, Kayla Butcher Lunn (Justin), Justin Butcher, Hannah Butcher, Cody Butcher, Andrew Butcher, Mason Dunsmuir and Laurel Dunsmuir, Great grandchildren: Keegan Butcher, Daniel Lunn and Logan Butcher.

Marion will be missed by her family and lifelong friends, her special companion and dear friend Barry McDaniel, her Ya Ya Sisterhood and sweet friends near and far. She will be remembered for her sassy sense of humor, her beautiful smile and of course her flawless hair and makeup. May you rest in peace precious Marion.
