Marjorie Kelley Wheelis

Marjorie Clyde Kelley Wheelis, died Friday, October 14, 2016. She was 93 years old. Born on March 22, 1923 to Robert Augustus Kelley and Maebell Clyde (Carter) Kelley, Marjorie was raised by her father and grandparents after the death of her mother when she was just 18 months old. She married Charles M. Wheelis on November 1, 1941. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, a daughter, Katherine and two sons, David and Robin Wheelis. She is survived by her 6 children; Charlene (Bob, deceased) Lindsey, Teresa (Art Bush) Brauneller, June Cecil, Charles Jr “Wally” Wheelis, Phyllis (Mike) Lee, and Michael Wheelis. She is survived by 22 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Special family member also includes, Bunkey and Debbie Smith, Russ Brauneller, Penny Helton. Marjorie had many names over her lifetime: Marjorie, Maggie Mae, Clyde, Momma, Grandma, and Aunt Marjorie to name a few. To her family she was the glue that bound us all together. Each child was her heart, each grandchild her favorite. She will be tremendously missed, but we know a part of her lives on in each of us. The Family would also like to send a special thank you to Tameeka, Jasmine, Teresa and Cassandra and the staff of Hospice Compassus and to the nursing staff at Social Circle Nursing and Rehab for the loving care they provided our Momma and Grandmother. Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 21, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Wages and Sons Stone Mountain Chapel. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 20th from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Wages and Sons.
