Martha Kate Yount

Martha Kate Kenney Yount , 85, of Lawrenceville passed away on March 8, 2023. Martha Kate was a 1955 graduate of Athens High School. She attended UGA and was married to Paul W. Yount, Jr. She retired from BellSouth/AT&T. Martha was a member of New Hope Christian Church where she had previously taught Sunday School and was a Director of the Children’s Church. She was the daughter of the late Wilson and Lucy Kenney.

Martha Kate is survived by her children Wesley Yount and Amy Rhoads and her husband Rich, as well as her grandchildren: Amanda, Clinton, Chandler and Sterling. In addition, she is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and John Webb as well as several nieces and nephews. Her sister, Jane Jones and brother James Kenney predeceased her.

Services will be held at 5:00PM on Saturday, March 11 at Wages & Sons Funeral Home at 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy in Lawrenceville, GA with Rev. James Shelton officiating. Interment will be at 1:00PM Sunday, March 12 at Evergreen Memorial Park at 3655 Atlanta Hwy in Athens, GA.
