Mary Lou Grupp

Mary Lou Grupp, affectionately known as “Mary Lou” or “LuLu,” passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, at the age of 92, in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

Born on July 27, 1932, in New York, Mary Lou lived a life full of laughter, love, and sass. She was quick-witted, funny, and full of spirit—traits that endeared her to everyone who knew her. Her warm heart and fierce loyalty made her a beloved presence in the lives of family and friends alike.

Mary Lou was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—spending time in her garden, getting lost in a good book, and sharing her love with the animals she adored, especially her cherished cat, Kitty. She had a way of making people feel seen and loved, and she was a constant source of comfort and joy for her family.

She is survived by her loving sons, Lawrence Grupp and Paul Grupp (Victoria), and her treasured grandchildren: Trevor Grupp, Alexis Grupp, Britney Calhoun (Brandon), and Alexis Goodwin. Her legacy also lives on through her great-grandchildren, Briggs Calhoun and Londyn Calhoun. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles “Chuck” Grupp, and her fifteen brothers and sisters.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 1:00–2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville GA 30046. The services will be a time to honor the life of a woman who brought love, humor, and light into every room she entered.
