Mary Convey McKee died on the evening of December 17th, 2013 surrounded by loved ones. Born in 1946 in Charlotte, NC. Mary had a vivacious spirit and loved to be around people. Throughout her life she had a passion for gardening, which she learned from her mother and passed on to her children; she shared this passion with the public as well through service as a Master Gardener. She created an impressive landscape with unique plants and eclectic ornaments on her property in Tucker. Mary died peacefully, after a decade long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. The family would like to express gratitude for the kind and gentle care provided by many caregivers over the years. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Robert F. McKee, children Jeanne-Marie Halley and husband Robert, John DuBose and wife June, Jennifer DuBose and husband Christopher all of Atlanta, as well as siblings Bill Convey and Carolyn Solan of Charlotte, and five grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made in memory of Mary to the Alzheimer’s Association of Georgia at https://www.alz.org/georgia/.
