Mary Louise (Pickens) Bryant of Destin, Florida, entered into eternal rest on December 11, 2022, at the age of 60. She was survived by her husband, Terry Bryant, her daughter, Danielle (Bryant) Shepard, and her sister, Carol (Pickens) McKettrick. Lou is also survived by her niece, Crystal (McKettrick) Miller, her nephew, Wesley McKettrick, as well as many cousins and dear friends.
Lou was the daughter of the late William Murphy Pickens and the late Mary Jimmie (Barlow) Pickens of Lawrenceville, Georgia. A graduate of Central Gwinnett High in Lawrenceville, Brevard College and the University of Georgia, Lou achieved her master’s and specialist degrees from the University of West Georgia. She lived her dream of travelling the United States with her husband Terry for four years after retirement. They resided in Elephant Butte, New Mexico.
Lou was an educator, a coach, and an administrator in the Gwinnett County Public School system for 28 years. She was a member of the Beta Rho Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International, an honorary educational society. After her retirement, Lou achieved the position of Mary Kay Sales Director, promoting Mary Kay products throughout the country during her travels. Lou was very passionate about everything that she did! Her other joy was being outdoors. She loved walking on the beach during the beautiful sunrises and sunsets admiring God’s handywork.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 -3:00PM with a Celebration of Life to follow at 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Wages & Sons Funeral Home, 1031 Lawrenceville Highway Lawrenceville, GA 30046.
