Dr. Melvin Douglas Clark

Dr. Melvin Douglas Clark passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Magnolia Senior Living, Loganville, Ga. He was 87. He was born in Albertville, Alabama, on March 12, 1937, the son of Vasco Clark and Lillie May Clark (Jones). He is survived by his children: Cheryl Ann Clark McCoy – (Craig Alan McCoy) of Loganville and John Douglas Clark – (Monica Hurmuzache Clark) of Suwanee, four grandchildren: Kimberly Ann Clark Reuter (John Reuter) of Johns Creek, Maia Mae Clark, Elisabeth Anne Clark, and Jonathan Christopher Clark of Suwanee; three great grandchildren: Satawney Masadies Ann Clark, Benjamin Alexander Reuter, and Thomas Clark Reuter of Johns Creek. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Clark, his dad Vasco Clark, his mom Lillie May Clark, brother Forrest Stanley Clark, and brother Ralph E. Clark.

He was a graduate of Bessemer High School, Bessemer, Alabama, class of 1955.

M. Douglas Clark is the author or co-author of 14 books including The Story of Jesus and Practical Loss Control Leadership. Dr. Clark holds a Doctorate in Theology from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky and a MA in Psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology. He has served as pastor, professor, hospital chaplain, management consultant and trainer, and mental health counselor. He has worked in over 30 countries.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm with the memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m. at Wages and Sons on Hwy. 29 (Lawrenceville Hwy.) with Pastor Lamar Holley officiating.
