Meredith Augusta White

February 16, 1942 — January 23, 2021

Meredith (Paul) Augusta White, Sr., 78, died on January 23, 2021 in Atlanta, Georgia after a short hospitalization and long bout with kidney disease. Born February 16, 1942, in Boothan, AL, he was raised in Birmingham, AL and was the son of Sanford Augusta White and Lorene Dunigan White. He attended Rosedale High School in Homewood, AL and played football at Miles College.

Meredith was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and afterwards managed newspaper distribution for the Atlanta Journal and Constitution newspaper. He was also a small business owner over his career. For those who knew him, he was an avid sports fan, and he enjoyed the outdoors. Meredith was quick witted, had an infectious laugh and a great sense of humor.

He is survived by his children, Meredith Jr. (Cynthia), Paula, and Keith (Trina). He is the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren, Christopher White (Joy), Joshua White, Keythe Gentry, Blake Gentry, Tyler White, Kendall White, Kayden White and a great grandson, Joshua Jr.

Due to the cautions of the COVID era, Meredith will be remembered with a private military family service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Meredith (Paul) Augusta White to the National Kidney Foundation.
