Michael Newland Tidwell

Michael was a loving and devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was genuine and kind. He loved deep conversations and looking at things from different perspectives. As a teenager, Michael was active in his church community. He played the guitar, put on skits for the youth group, and went on mission trips. Michael graduated with honors from Archer High School in 2012. He enjoyed playing cello in the orchestra, participating in ComedySportz, and excelling in AP and college-level calculus classes.

He continued the math track and earned a B.S. in Pure Mathematics from Georgia Gwinnett College in 2017. He was enthusiastic about working as a Compliance Analyst for Madison Consulting, as his work offered the opportunity to develop solutions through mathematical thinking. Other passions of Michael’s include comedy, interesting and unusual facts, video games, and his Rubik’s Cube collection.

Michael is survived by his parents, John and Sandy Tidwell; brothers, Jon (Kate), Sam (Claire), Garrett (fiancée Maggie); nieces, Charleigh, Ella, Cara, and Ruby; and nephews, Evan, Jake, and Charles, as well as many dear friends.

The Celebration of Life is to be held at Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA, 30046, on Sunday, July 16th at 3PM , with family receiving visitors one hour prior.
