Mrudula Mukund Raja

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Mrudula Mukund Raja at age 74. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 17, 2023. Mrudulaben was born on May 7, 1949, in Petlad, India, and grew up in Baroda, Gujarat. She was educated at Baroda Medical College and graduated in 1972. She moved to the United States in 1977 shortly after marriage and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. The Raja family moved to Atlanta in 1985, where Mrudulaben and Mukundbhai opened their medical practices. She practiced medicine for over 30 years before retiring in 2017. She was known as a skilled surgeon and physician by her patients.

Mrudulaben’s hobbies included singing, playing the piano, yoga, indoor gardening for her Tulsi plants, and reading the Bhagavad Gita. She cherished playing with her granddaughters, Sanvi and Maya. She was a loving and family-oriented person and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of forty-six years, Dr. Mukund Chandulal Raja, their two daughters and sons-in-law, Shreya and Shann Mehrotra and Shruti and Rahul Chandrasekhar, two granddaughters Sanvi Mehrotra and Maya Chandrasekhar, and her large extended family.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Wages & Sons Funeral Homes and Crematories, located at 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA 30046.
