Nancy Eileen Phillips, born on November 20, 1943, in St. Louis, MO, passed away on August 11, 2024, in Snellville, GA, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication that touched the lives of many. Nancy earned her B.S. in Nursing from Indiana State University and went on to have a distinguished career as a Registered Nurse. Known affectionately as “Nurse Nancy” to her patients and colleagues, she dedicated her life to caring for others, particularly in the emergency room, where her skill and kindness saved countless lives. Her unwavering commitment to her patients was matched only by her deep love for her family, whom she cherished beyond measure.

Nancy was not just a nurse; she was a devoted mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. Her family lovingly called her “Mimi,” and she had a unique way of making everyone around her feel loved, cared for, and secure. Her gentle presence brought a sense of calm and reassurance, making it clear that everything was going to be alright. Her home was a haven of warmth and love, where her family always felt at ease.

In her free time, Nancy enjoyed crafting, reading, listening to music, and watching sports. She had a special fondness for cats and was known for her nurturing nature, both towards her pets and her family.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow Wilson Magness and Lona Lee (Travis) Magness, and her brother Richard Magness. She is survived by her loving sons, Scott Phillips (Tracy), Sean Phillips (Victoria), and Chad Phillips (Lindsey); her cherished grandchildren, Dalton Travis Phillips, Julia Marie Phillips, Carter Preston Phillips, Phoenix Ray Phillips, and Lucca Sydney Phillips.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA, 30046. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Nancy will be laid to rest at North Atlanta Memorial Park, 5188 Winter Chapels Road, Dunwoody, GA 30360, at 1:00 PM.
