Nellie Jo Black Hubbard “Mama Nell”, a resident of Sun Rise at Webb Gin in Lawrenceville, GA, passed away Monday, October 19, 2015 at 85 years of age. She was born in Commerce, GA on March 21, 1930. Nellie Jo was preceded in death by her first husband, James M. Black, Sr. (Jimmy), second husband, Luther Hubbard, and brother, Woodie Martin. Survivors include James M. Black, Jr. (Jimmy), Janice Black Jones (Lee), Bill Black (Brenda); grandchildren, James M. “Jimbo” Black, III, Joel Black (Michele), Alan Black, Meredith Black Ferguson (Ben), Johnathon Jones (Monica), Kristy Adcock (Chad), Keri Manning, and 13 great grandchildren.
Throughout her lifetime, Nellie was affiliated with a number of organizations, Moose Club, Shriners, Ladies of the Oriental Shrine (LOS), Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, and Order of Amaranth.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel with interment following at Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA 30046, 770-277-4550.
