Nikhil Vishwanath Nargundkar

Nikhil was born in Atlanta, Georgia in the Brookhaven neighborhood. He attended Northwoods Montessori school, Chamblee Middle School, and Chamblee High School.

Always fiercely independent, Nikhil eschewed the traditional four year college path after attending Kennesaw State University for two years. He was certified in welding from Georgia Trade school in Acworth and worked at Mills Specialty Metals in Marietta, designing, fabricating, and welding various metals. Moving on from that profession, he earned his commercial helicopter pilot license in 2023 and worked for Prestige Helicopters at Peachtree DeKalb Airport. He loved flying helicopters and followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, Col. Conrad L Beggs, who was a USAF pilot.

Exceptionally creative and mechanically inclined since childhood, Nikhil was a builder and creator, constantly exploring, tinkering, improving, and innovating with meticulous attention to detail in a wide swath of technical areas, developing his expertise in each with seemingly effortless ease.

He is survived by his wife, Tomi Nargundkar, who is an artist and a cosplay costume designer and would regularly assist with his flights; his mother Marla Nargundkar, who is a Montessori teacher/owner at Tree of Life Montessori School of Atlanta; and father, Dr. Satish Nargundkar who is the Assistant Dean for the MBA program in the Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University.

Nikhil also had a steadfast group of friends with whom he shared his quirky sense of humor, and hobbies like juggling and unicycling. For the past eight years their weekly Friday gatherings became a cherished tradition. Together, they navigated life’s biggest milestones, from college and first jobs to marriages and first home purchases. He approached friendship the way he approached engineering—seeking strength and stability—which made him an incredibly dependable and loyal friend.

He will always be loved and missed. A bright star has left this Earthly realm far too soon.
